Art for all

Book a session or workshop with Isabel
I believe that art should be accessible to everyone and as such, I can work with you to create a workshop or session that meets your needs and your budget.

If you are looking for an artist to work with your school, community group or people you support, please get in touch. I am happy to come up with ideas to chat through with you, whether you want a whole group or school project or a session to fit a particular project or theme such as D-Day, mindfulness, the Egyptians, cave painting, musicals or famous artists. I can also offer specialist drawing or painting sessions to help focus on artistic techniques and skills as well as workshops for gifted and talented children or for those who benefit from more individual support in order to create and celebrate every achievement. I am experienced in supporting adults and children with learning disabilities and other additional support needs and am able to deliver sessions in day services, residential homes or community groups.

Whether I am working with adults or children, I work in a person-centred way so that all participants get the most possible from the session. I use my experience to come at things from different perspectives, so that together we find an approach that allows everyone to enjoy drawing and painting and to improve their skills. Regular sessions over time increase not just techniques, but confidence and resilience too. I am experienced in planning and designing art programmes so that learners are able to meet both learning and wider aims/objectives of the session or course.

I work in a professional way, using over 12 years of experience in designing and delivering training in the workplace. I hold the Level 3 award in Teaching and Learning. I have also received Arts4Dementia /Alzheimers Society training. Please let me know if you would like details of my latest DBS or safeguarding training. I am also happy to arrange workshops for parties, celebrations or other events and also provide individual tuition. Creative activities are often ideal for team building sessions and I can tailor these to your business aims and objectives.

What do people say about workshops with Isabel?

Zoe Crockford, Head of Art and Aspiration Coordinator; Winton Community Academy
Thank you so much for leading our workshop yesterday in Winchester. I really appreciate how you geared the focus towards our current study whilst linking so skillfully with the unbelievable Turners we had just seen. It made a logical yet broad connection which captured my students' interest perfectly. We have a fabulous body of work to use as starting points and I will be able to explain (once again) how this style of working is essential for their GCSE. It was a great start to the academic year.

Wendy Redman, Gosport Venue Manager (Learning Lead); Hampshire Cultural Trust
Isabel has delivered numerous family and school art workshops for SEARCH. They are engaging, enjoyable and always pitched at the right level for the participants. Visitors develop new skills while having fun whether it be experimenting with watercolour paint, mark making or printing.

Sandra Heath, Art Room Manager; The Federation of Heathfield and St Francis Special Schools
Isabel is a wonderfully engaging and inspiring artist, who understands the diverse variety of needs that our students require. She provides comprehensive, challenging and accessible workshops on a wide range of art topics and technical skills. I would thoroughly recommend her services having attended a course for my own artistic improvement and sheer pleasure!

Jenny Stevens, Venue Manager Basingstoke (Willis Museum & Sainsbury Gallery) and Culture Hubs Curatorial Lead;
Hampshire Cultural Trust
Isabel was as always professional, reliable and enjoyable to work with. She has a great ability to tailor her workshops to the audience, be they nervous children or adults with existing skill and knowledge. The workshops kept both children and adults engaged and unearthed some hidden talents. Staff and participants came away with a better understanding of Elizabeth Blackadder’s work and a sense of achievement about what they had achieved thanks to Isabel’s skill.

Jo Bourne, Learning Co-ordinator (Area 3), Learning in Libraries
Isabel has been delivering a wide range of art classes in local Libraries for the past 5 years. These include sessions for families, adults and targeted sessions for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities as well as Art for Wellbeing. Her sessions are fun, friendly, fully accessible and encourage individuals to try out new techniques as well as improve their existing skills. Isabel always receives excellent feedback with many learners signing up for her courses as soon as they are advertised. One return learner told me she has made lots of new friends and looks forward to having a cup of tea and a slice of cake with them after the session. When planning the programme for the term, Isabel is careful to choose courses that will appeal not only to her return learners but will also encourage new learners to give the sessions a try.
